📢SSC CGL 2026

The official SSC CGL 2026 notification was initially expected to be released on 31st March 2026 along with SSC JE and Selection Post Phase 14. However, due to some unforeseen reasons, the release has been slightly delayed.

Now, it is anticipated that the Commission will announce the SSC CGL vacancies in the first week of April 2026.

In the meantime, candidates are advised to stay prepared and carefully review important details such as eligibility criteria, cut-off dates, post-wise vacancies, and the selection process once the official notification is released.

Syllabus

Exam Pattern:

The SSC CGL exam is conducted in two tiers: Tier 1 and Tier 2, both are Computer-Based Tests (CBT).

🧾Tier-I: Objective Type (Online CBT)

 * Total: 100 questions, 200 marks

 * Negative Marking: 0.50 per wrong answer.

 * Tier 1 is qualifying in nature; the marks obtained are not counted in the final merit list.

Tier-II: Objective Type (Online CBT)

Paper-I (All Candidates):
Sections on Maths, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer, DEST:
 

Negative Marking in Tier II for Paper I: 1 mark for each wrong answer,
Negative Marking in Tier II for Paper I| and Paper III: 0.5 mark for each wrong answer,
There is no negative marking in the Computer Knowledge Test (Module of Section-III of Paper-I).

SSC CGL 2025 offers posts in different ministries and departments. Some key roles include:

 Eligibility Criteria:

 * Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement.

 
🎓 Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2026)

• All Other Posts:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any stream.

• Junior Statistical Officer (JSO):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with at least 60% marks in Maths in Class 12, OR

  • Bachelor’s with Statistics as a subject at the degree level

• Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

  • Graduation with Statistics as a subject in all 3 years/6 semesters.

📝 Selection Process – SSC CGL 2026

New Changes Introduced for SSC CGL Exam 2026

In a bid to strengthen security and curb fraudulent practices, SSC has introduced Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for all its recruitment exams, including SSC CGL 2026. This system is designed to improve identity verification and prevent impersonation during exams.

Candidates will have the option to use Aadhaar authentication at three critical stages:

• Online Registration

• Application Submission

• At the Exam Centre

Biometric data, such as fingerprints or facial recognition, will be linked to the candidate's Aadhaar number for enhanced security.

This year, two new posts have been introduced: Section Head and Office Superintendent, expanding the range of opportunities available to aspirants.
